Hello and thank you for taking time to visit my website. My name is Lisa Perkins and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of California.  I could start by providing you with information about my education, degrees, affiliations and accomplishments but I won’t. I would like to start by telling you about me, the person.

Becoming a LMFT was not just my choice of career, it is who I am. It is my passion and I know, without a doubt, my purpose. I tell everyone that I have the best job ever. I get to do what I love to do, all day, everyday. One of the greatest joys of my life is serving others and becoming a therapist has allowed me that privilege. 

I’ve had the pleasure of working with a diverse group of people from all walks of life. I’ve had the opportunity to enhance my skills and abilities by treating a wide range of disorders. I have learned and gained so much from my experiences and it has helped me become a better therapist and a better person.

In this age of social media, some would like you to believe that their life is perfect. Ooo "perfect" how I despise that word. For many of us society has defined what success and happiness should look like. And through many of our experiences we have placed unrealistic expectations on ourselves and others. 

Although many of our problems are similar, each of us are uniquely different. Therefore, I use a wide range of therapeutic approaches to achieve optimal results. The treatment plan that we design together is grounded in your experiences and your truth. It is built upon your  strengths, tenacity, struggles, challenges and traumas.

It is my belief that people thrive in an atmosphere where they feel heard, respected and receive unconditional positive regard with a therapist who is genuine, authentic, trustworthy and reliable and that is me.
